NATIONAL POOL LIFEGUARD QUALIFICATION (N.P.L.Q.) 7th Edition

This Professional course involves 38 hours of tuition followed by an independent assessment. The course will cover the following areas:
*Pool Lifeguard Theory
*First Aid
*Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
*Water Rescue Skills
*Spinal Injury Management
*The Lifeguard and the Law
*The Swimming Pool
*The Role of the Lifeguard
*Normal Operating Plan
*Emergency Action Plan
*Supervision Skills
*Provision and Use of Play Equipment
*Diving in Pools
Candidates must be able to do the following:
1) swim 100m on front and back in deep water
2) tread water for 30 seconds
3) swim 50m within 60 seconds
4) climb out of the pool in deep water without the use of steps in deep water
5) surface dive to the deepest part of the pool
COURSE DATES:
15TH - 21ST FEBRUARY 2010
*Lunch - from the dining hall, both hot and cold food will be available (not available on Saturday and Sunday)
