Rookie Lifeguard
Rookie Lifeguard is for those who are aged between 8 and 12 and can swim 50m confideltly.
As a rookie you will learn special lifesaving skills to help you save yourself and know what to do if others get into difficulty in the water. You will also learn what to do if someone stops breathing. The awards contain survival, rescue and sports skills as well as lifesupport and water safety elements so they are great fun to do.
The Rookie programme is divided into three stages; bronze, silver and gold. At each stage there are three badges and there are also lots of special badges you can work towards.
As there is so much to learn and so much fun to be had in this course, it will run for 1hour & 30mins.
For more information on this course or any other course we are running, please contact Cara (Haileybury's Swimming Programmes Co - ordinator) at c.craven@haileybury.com or on 01992 706429
SWIM FOR FITNESS!
I believe every child should have the opportunity to live a healthy lifestyle and I want to give everyone the opportunity to learn to swim and enjoy swimming for health and fun, which is why I have created Swim for Fitness!
Swim for fitness! will give children the opportunity to learn some of the skills taught at a swimming club without the added pressure of competing at galas and attending regular training. A trial period will take place for six weeks starting on Thursday 17th September and run until 22nd October 2009. The sessions will run from 19.00-19.45 and if the sessions prove to be popular, Swim for Fitness! will become a permanent fixture in our swimming lesson programme. The cost for the six week course will be £44.10 for non-members and £34.20 for members.
If you would like to book onto this course or if you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me on 01992 706429 or at c.craven@haileybury.com.
